Second-Hand iPhone in Patna — What to Check Before Buying

The used iPhone market in Patna is active, and a good deal can turn into a dead loss if you skip the checks. The five that actually matter: battery health, genuine parts, iCloud lock, IMEI, and Face ID/cameras. Miss the iCloud one and you own a paperweight; miss battery health and you inherit a Rs 4,000 repair. Skip any one of them and a bargain becomes a write-off; a paid pre-purchase inspection is the fallback if you would rather a technician confirm it.

The five checks that matter

  1. Battery health: Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Below ~85% means a replacement is due soon — factor it into the price. See iPhone battery health percentage explained.
  2. Genuine / quality parts: look for an "unable to verify genuine part" notice; a replaced screen or battery should lower the price, not end the deal — context in is a third-party iPhone screen safe?.
  3. iCloud / Find My: confirm Find My is off and the phone is fully reset in front of you. A locked iCloud is unfixable.
  4. IMEI: match the IMEI in Settings → General → About against the box; check it is not reported lost.
  5. Face ID and cameras: test Face ID and every lens — a failed Face ID or hazy camera is an expensive fix.

Get a pre-purchase inspection

If you are not sure, bring the phone (or the seller) to our Boring Road counter for a paid pre-purchase inspection — we verify battery health, part grades, IMEI, and Face ID before money changes hands. Contact us to arrange it, and see related repair costs in the Patna mobile repair price list.

When to just walk away

No deal is worth an iCloud-locked phone or a failed Face ID at full price. If the seller rushes you past these checks or won't reset the phone in front of you, that is the deal to skip.
