Redmi Note 13 5G Screen Replacement in Patna: Cost, AMOLED vs Copy

A cracked Redmi Note 13 5G screen has one decision that controls everything: original AMOLED or a copy panel. The original-grade AMOLED looks and behaves like the screen the phone shipped with; a TFT or Incell copy costs less than half but loses the deep blacks, brightness and smooth 120Hz feel this phone is built around. The bare part alone ranges from about Rs 4,800 for an original AMOLED down to Rs 1,200 for a copy, which is exactly where buyers get cheated, paying original rates for a copy. This guide gives the real fitted Patna cost, how to tell the grades apart, and when a new screen on this phone is worth it.

The phone you're repairing

SpecRedmi Note 13 5G (2312DRAABI)
Display6.67-inch AMOLED
Resolution1080 x 2400
Refresh rate120Hz
GlassCorning Gorilla Glass 5
RatingIP54 (splash, not submersion)

That AMOLED panel is the reason repair isn't cheap and why the part grade matters so much. The model number 2312DRAABI is worth quoting when you order a part, because the wrong-variant panel won't seat correctly.

The original-vs-copy trap on this model

This is where most Redmi Note 13 owners lose money. Three grades get sold as "replacement screen," and the price gap is large.

An original AMOLED is the genuine panel: full brightness, true blacks, 120Hz, and it matches the phone's factory look. A soft or hard OLED aftermarket is the closest substitute, good colour at a lower price, fine if you're keeping the phone a year or two. A TFT or Incell LCD copy is the cheapest by far and the one to be careful with, washed-out blacks, weaker outdoor visibility, and a touch feel most people notice within a day.

The catch: a copy panel fitted and billed as "original" is the classic Patna repair scam. We name the grade and show you the price of each before fitting, so you choose with eyes open. The wider explainer is in original vs copy phone screen.

Glass-only or full combo?

Get the full combo. On a fused AMOLED like this one, separating and replacing only the cracked outer glass is a refurbishing job that often comes back with alignment gaps, lifting edges or touch problems within weeks. The combo, also called a folder, replaces the glass, touch digitizer and AMOLED panel as one sealed unit, which is why technicians fit it as the durable fix. The cost difference and logic apply across brands too, covered in the screen repair guide.

What the symptoms mean

A drop on this phone usually cracks the outer glass first while the AMOLED keeps working, so you see a picture through the cracks and touch still responds. That's the window to replace it cheaply, before the damage spreads.

Lines across the screen, black patches, a half-dead display, or ghost touch (the phone tapping itself) mean the panel underneath is already failing, not just the glass. At that point a combo replacement is the only fix. If your touch died after a drop without obvious cracks, the same pattern shows up on other models too, see Samsung A15 touch not working after a drop.

TFT / Incell copyWashed-out, weaker outdoorsRs 2,500 – 3,500

Note the gap from the bare-part prices retailers quote: a Rs 1,499 "display" listing is the part only, before fitting, warranty or testing. Is a new screen worth it on this phone?

Run the resale-value check. A used Redmi Note 13 5G in good shape is worth a few times the cost of an aftermarket OLED screen, so a single screen repair on an otherwise healthy phone is an easy yes. An original AMOLED at Rs 5,000-6,000 only makes sense if the phone is recent and you want the factory look or plan to resell it as all-original.

It tips the other way when the screen isn't the only problem. A cracked screen plus a worn battery plus a loose charging port stacks past half the phone's value, and a newer used handset wins. The full method is in repair or replace your phone.

When to skip the repair

Don't repair this screen if any of these fit:

  • The phone also has a failing battery and a charging fault, so the combined bill clears 50 percent of resale.
  • You only want the cheapest possible fix and would be unhappy with a copy panel's washed-out look, in which case set expectations before fitting, not after.
  • The phone took water through the cracked screen and now shows display or board symptoms, that's a water-damage diagnosis first, not a straight screen swap.

A free diagnosis gives you the real numbers either way.
